Soccer Camp

Last week wore us all out, but boy did we have fun. It was our last camp of the summer (sniff, sniff). Anna-Laura had the one-hour class, which was just enough time...for both of us.While she learned, John Paul and his buddy Rhys played this game. Throw the ball up on the net and shake it like a crazy person until it comes down. If that doesn't work, just climb on the net!And when that got old, he bugged Clare.John ...

Surprise!

In honor of the brother/sister bond, Daniel and I did a fun thing back in May. You'll have to check it out. It was fun to surprise Mom and Dad for their 37th wedding anniversary! Shannon, the book of pictures was a TOTAL hit with the parentals. Thank you, thank you for helping us celebrate mom and dad's milestone. They were absolutely thrilled. I think they're fighting now over who gets to take the book to the office first :-)Last ...

It is finished…

Nursing Clare, that is. I'm sad. Sad because I don't know if she's my last. Sad because now her nutrients come from HEB and Central Market. It's just hard to think about closing that door, you know. I'm a crazy person. Do I need counseling? Wouldn't most women be doing jumping jacks because they got their body back? I love nursing more than I can explain and I'm thankful for the 13 months - even though they went by way ...

Top Ten: The Best Week Ever!

There was one night, Wednesday I think, when we were all scarfing down some Italian gelato and Scott looks over at me and says, "Has this just been the best day or what?" Oh man, I wanted to bottle that moment.Every year, around our wedding anniversary, Scott and I have made the trek to a different ...

Happy #12! (and counting…)

Today, at exactly 3:32pm, Scott and I celebrate our 12th anniversary. Has it really been 12 years...4 kids, a mortgage payment, 3 major moves, surgeries, hospital visits and countless soccer games...yes, I suppose it has. When we professed those wedding vows 12 years ago, we had no idea (nobody does, really) what to expect. You know, 'cause it's all wedding cake, wedding dress, wedding Mass, wedding, wedding, wedding. You're so caught up in the day, the tears, the joy, the excitement, ...

Snapshots: Water Fun

I'll just let the pictures do the talking...my typing will just ruin the moment.

Howdy!

... and welcome to the chaos. I know a thing or two about big families (I've got 6 kids), carpool, Catholic converts, the Texas Aggies, prematurity, date nights with Mr. Whitaker, organization and party planning, but I still don't know why it's so hard for my kids to  put up their shoes. My Texas-sized heart is honored to have you here! Contact me at kathrynwhitakertx@gmail.com
