Book Fair

Will, ever the reader, decided to set up a "Book Fair" in our hallway. He was charging 1-cent per book, with a limit of 4. But, he's evidently learned a thing or two from his Uncle Cory. Books just went up to 4-cents, no limit. But, when I picked out my 3 books, he told me I owed 75-cents. His reason? "The price is going up and the store is about to close, Mom."

Happy Father’s Day!

What a weekend!I headed up to Dallas on Saturday to see my old roomies and fellow Chi-Os. E and Lis - I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time. Man, not much has changed except that now we think we looked so much better in college!! The time was way too short, but I'm grateful for the few hours that we did have. We must do that again soon.On Sunday, we enjoyed brunch with my parents and some family ...

Let the camps begin…

Summertime means water, late mornings, flip flops and CAMP!! Will started "Art Camp" this week with his "most favorite" teacher, Ms. I. She is phenomenally talented, so patient and the first teacher we heard about when Will started school. We are really going to miss her next year when she moves to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Each year, the kids do some amazing art pieces using different mediums, different paints and techniques. My dad, a commercial art major himself, was quite impressed ...

Snapshots: Express Baseball!

This past Sunday, one of my clients invited the family to enjoy the Round Rock Express baseball game from the suites. Sweet! We ate, and ate, and ate - cotton candy, popcorn, chips, cokes - yes, we do let the kids let loose once in a while 🙂 We even witnessed 3 home runs!! The ballpark had a free promotion and passed out Nolan Ryan jerseys. The kids wore them all night. As long as Anna-Laura's is, she'll be wearing ...

Howdy!

... and welcome to the chaos. I know a thing or two about big families (I've got 6 kids), carpool, Catholic converts, the Texas Aggies, prematurity, date nights with Mr. Whitaker, organization and party planning, but I still don't know why it's so hard for my kids to  put up their shoes. My Texas-sized heart is honored to have you here! Contact me at kathrynwhitakertx@gmail.com
