Overheard at Mass
Last night, I took the boys with me to Mass. They're finally at the age where you can take them and hear about half of the homily as opposed to bringing the whole family and spending the entire hour in the back, wondering if you're at church or the supermarket.Anyway, at the Mass we had a visiting priest, a Paulist Father, in town for our Parish Mission. He was a funny one, and the boys thought his jokes were hilarious. ...

Pretty close, considering it asks questions in which you answer, "yes", "no", "sometimes", "unknown".Our latest round of laughs was blog worthy, so I'll share the story with you. Saturday afternoon, Will busts out the game and a fight immediately ensues between him and John ...
Last Day ‘O School
Today was a big day...the last day of Mother's Day Out!! John Paul and Anna-Laura crack me up, and each other, too. The kids sang some songs, but mostly they just waved at their parents and picked their noses. I mean, not MINE, but other people's kids. Mine don't do that. Anyhoo, it was cute, as usual. This is our fifth "graduation" and they don't seem to come any slower. Every year I look up and think, "Where the heck ...

... and welcome to the chaos. I know a thing or two about big families (I've got 6 kids), carpool, Catholic converts, the Texas Aggies, prematurity, date nights with Mr. Whitaker, organization and party planning, but I still don't know why it's so hard for my kids to put up their shoes.
