The Tower of Power
The kids worked on this tower all afternoon last week. In fact, it was like Bonfire 1994 - they built it like 9 times. Clare kept knocking it down. It was really fun to watch them keep Clare at bay (they were quite creative) during the construction. And, it was the first time all week they actually worked together on something NICELY. Whew.Next time somebody asks you about your afternoon, don't you wish you could spend it like this???Clare's contribution ...
Snapshot: Pigtails!
Man, who knew having a girl would be this heart breakingly cute (is that even a word??) The other day, I convinced Anna-Laura to put her hair in "piggies" - now she wants to do them everyday. Fine by me. You'll have to check back on Friday for her QOTW.And in the exciting news department, we signed Anna-Laura up for her first dance classes this fall! It's a combo of tap/ballet/tumbling. With as many bruises as she's garnered in the ...
QOTW: July 18, 2008
As usual, I had to pare down the list. Guess that's what I get for asking."Will you seep wif me for 2 minutes?"Anna-Laura's stall technique every night when she goes ...
War Stinks
Sometimes I just don't know where to start. Yesterday we found out my cousin John will soon deploy for his second tour in Iraq. My dad is a Vietnam veteran, my uncle a Korean War veteran and my two grandfathers were WWII veterans...there are countless other friends from A&M and elsewhere that are serving now. We are no stranger to military life. I am humbled by their sacrifice and in awe of a country that allows us so many freedoms, ...
Fore!
Will had a great time at golf camp, and we really enjoyed the time at our "vacation house" (Nana and Papa's digs). While Will was chipping, putting and driving, we were putting together puzzles, playing legos and eating popsicles. We even managed to get Clare to take naps somewhere other than her own crib...MAJOR milestone! After lunch on Thursday, we headed to the back porch to eat said popsicles and guess who we saw driving on Hole 9? Master Will! Sorry ...

... and welcome to the chaos. I know a thing or two about big families (I've got 6 kids), carpool, Catholic converts, the Texas Aggies, prematurity, date nights with Mr. Whitaker, organization and party planning, but I still don't know why it's so hard for my kids to put up their shoes. My Texas-sized heart is honored to have you here! Contact me at kathrynwhitakertx@gmail.com
