Label All the Things
Heyyyy, welcome back to school, y’all.
Don’t worry, I’m the neighbor with the margarita machine. #truestory
As we did the mad dash to get everyone ready for school, I found the kindest email in my inbox from my graphic design crush, Minted. They were all, we have a $250 store credit to give away to one of your readers. Um, yes, please. Hang tight, I have some cool stuff to share.
Y’all might remember the awesome sauce baptism party we threw for sweet Gianna and those paper products were all due to the generosity of Minted.
Well, this time we teamed up to bring you school labeling heaven. YES! My kids have 8,000 things which all somehow wind up in the school’s lost and found pile. And, also, bar ditches. But, that’s a story for another time.
After perusing the Minted site for far longer than I will publicly admit, I finally found label winners for all six kids. We have a color coding system at our house (each kid has a color), so their labels reflect that system. It works brilliantly. I loved that Minted had so many choices in so many color combinations.
Then, we went label crazy: water bottles, lunch sacks and bento boxes (those plastic inserts), school sweaters (we wear uniforms), school supplies, notebooks, folders, pendaflexes, locker accessories…and, I’ll stop. It was more fun than I thought it would be. Call it a proud parenting moment when my oldest daughter was like, “Mom, this is so awesome.” Apple, not far from the tree.
I especially loved that I could personalize the labels for my kids. For the teenager (in green), I put his cell number on his “cool” labels so things could easily be returned. We tried, very hard, to find a label that would be a good identifier but not get him called out in the halls of high school. I think it’s a winner. The girls loved the bubbles and flowers, so they were easy to please. Mr. first grader was digging the race cars, as was his mama. All around, we found some beauties.
Best part? Those labels are dishwasher and washing machine safe. Trust me. I tried it and they still look brand new. Label me impressed.
Oh! Oh! Are you that mom that sneaks notes into her kid’s lunchboxes? Minted just created FREE lunch box printables. There are even some cool enough for your middle schooler. Not sure I can manage to get one in the sophomore’s lunch box this year, though.
I have been a Minted fan for a long, long time. It’s always top quality, their customer service is fantastic and their designs are fresh, classic and beautiful. The graphic designer in me really appreciates that combination.
