iHeart Organizing Feature & a “Honey Do” Bucket Tutorial
Y’all remember last year when one of my favorite bloggers of all time featured the girls’ closet on her site? She’s doing it again, but this time our garage is in the hot seat. There’s no greater compliment than to get the shout out from someone who inspires you. Jen, thank you for making my week!
Today, you can read about the garage project over at iHeartOrganizing. For all of you visiting from iHeart, welcome to Team Whitaker!
Dork alert: yes, I’m still smiling every time I pull up in the van. I’m giving you a bit more details on the “Honey Do” Bucket I mentioned. You know, if you have a honey and there’s a few things you’d like him to do.
This was a super simple project once I found the right container. I wanted one that could store supplies, be carried around easily and was power-washable. Enter, this bucket and cleaning caddy combo from The Container Store.
I found the label from the BHG website, laminated it and then using velcro, affixed the label to the bucket. I took it one step further and created this “honey-do” checklist that includes the name of the project, the supplies needed and the time needed to complete. It’s laminated, making it easier to use a dry-erase marker for future projects. The bucket is big enough to store most of the supplies, the Mr. can see the jobs to be completed and it’s all in one easy-to-carry tote.
Happy honey do’ing!
Supplies:
Bucket: The Container Store
Label Template: BHG
Honey: supply your own cutie
You just blow me away!
God bless you!

Wow! Congrats and kudos, once again. Good work, girly!
Congratulations! So exciting for the feature. I found you because of Jen’s blog when your girls’ closet was featured, and so glad I did. I’ve been a loyal reader ever since.
[…] I even added a honey-do bucket to the project. My favorite part, but not Scott’s! To learn more about these easy 15-minute project, check out the honey-do bucket tutorial. […]
You are officially my hero! Even if it took 4 years, that garage was a huge undertaking and it look amazing! We’re tackling the garage this weekend, so thanks for the motivation….and congrats on the feature!! A perfect space to be in an I Heart Organizing feature!
I too found your blog when your girls closet was featured on iheartorganizing. Been following ever since. I was so excited to see your garage on there! There are so many Catholic Mom blogs out there and yours is the only one I follow consistently. Love your take on life and motherhood and I feel very inspired by the depth of your faith and devotion to the church and your family. We are expecting our 4th baby soon and will have two in Catholic School next year. Thank you for for providing an amazing blog that inspires my organizing/crafty side and my religious/faith side!!
