Aggieland
What better way to start off your morning than by VOTING FOR LUKE! The “Preemie of the Year” voting continues today. He’s been steady, hanging in the Top 5, and we appreciate your votes keeping him there. Feel free to send that link on to whomever you wish!
Ok, on to Aggieland. Last Friday and Saturday, Scott and I skipped town with Luke and enjoyed an overnight stay in College Station for the annual Former Yell Leader Reunion. Yes, I married a cute boy in white. I always remind Scott that I fell in love with him long before he became a yellboy. But, the free football tickets didn’t hurt the relationship 🙂
About 60 guys came in for the festivities on Friday night – from the Class of ’54 to the Class ’12. There were some good bull stories, jacket throwing by Dr. Joe West (another story for another blog post) and a whole lot of laughs. I mean, what else do you expect in a roomful of extroverts who all “gotta little story for ya Ags”? We kept Luke up way past his bedtime, but he did remarkably well. Eh, sleep is so overrated.
We spent the night with Scott’s cousin, JC, and his wife Kelly. They made an awesome breakfast, we chatted about family, loved on their dogs and then they shipped us off to gameday festivities on Saturday.
Wow has campus changed since ‘ol Army days. We didn’t have a single tailgater on campus and the biggest thing to happen was March In on the Quadrangle. Now, you can’t walk five feet without hitting tailgate after tailgate. It’s crazy! And fun. We made it to two tailgates, one over at the Foundation and the Former Yell Leaders. We saw lots of good friends and thoroughly enjoyed our time back on campus. Man, I love being an Aggie.
The Association of Former Students recently renovated their building and added a stellar “Ring Plaza” complete with a larger-than-life Aggie ring replica. Sweet.
On our way out of town, we stopped off at the Simmons’ house and I got to love on a newborn. Heaven! Sweet Caroline is all that and then some. Elizabeth, thanks for letting us smooch all over her. I love new baby smell.
Until next year Aggieland. Gig ’em, Howdy and Hullaballoo.
