Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
My, oh my, four years how gone by just that quickly. When the OB yelled out "It's a girl!" in the delivery room, my first response was, "Show me!"What a total joy to realize that all the fun stuff my mom and I did growing up (and all those "fun" arguments we had, too) could be in our future. I started thinking bows and pink dresses and baby dolls. I'm fairly certainly Scott started thinking teenage boys he'd have to ...
Happy Momma’s Day!
Hello there blog stalkers. As you can imagine, today is a great day for all Mom's. Just to clear your minds, Kathryn is not writing her own post today. I hijacked the blog again for the day. Hopefully, you will see how much I love my wife and the great mother that she has become. Just a little over 8 years ago, we were graced with one master William. As K mentioned in an earlier post, our time as parents ...
Top Ten: The Mom I Used to Be
In honor of said homage to moms this weekend, I thought it might be fun to reflect on the Mom I was 8 years ago and the Mom I am today. I'm pretty sure I laughed out loud. Love that.Scott's brother and his ...
First Communion!
Is that the face of a proud little boy, or what? Saturday evening, we journeyed up to the parish for Will's First Communion. Now, as a convert, I had my first communion, along with confirmation, about an hour before my wedding. My fancy white dress with a veil, proud parents and nervous energy were for a totally different sacrament! To be on the other end, the convert Mom whose son was making his First Communion, was a rush of emotions. ...
What a date night!
When Scott asks me out on a date, he knows how to do it right. I love that man. A couple of weeks ago, some friends invited us to attend a Gala event for the Majella Society. I was excited, mainly because that meant a date with my husband, talking about babies AND a hot meal I didn't have to cook, along with some sort of chocolate for dessert. Hey, what can I say. It's the little things. Then, I found ...

... and welcome to the chaos. I know a thing or two about big families (I've got 6 kids), carpool, Catholic converts, the Texas Aggies, prematurity, date nights with Mr. Whitaker, organization and party planning, but I still don't know why it's so hard for my kids to put up their shoes. My Texas-sized heart is honored to have you here! Contact me at kathrynwhitakertx@gmail.com
