Welcome to Christmas at Our House: A Home Tour

There are many things to love about Christmas, but you know what I’m the biggest fan of these days? The preparation. For me, that preparation is manifested in tangible things: decking the halls, baking, making gifts, wrapping presents, reading Christmas stories, watching “It’s a Wonderful Life”, going to confession and attending Mass.

No doubt, it is a spiritual flood of graces and I wanted my home to reflect our joy, our anticipation and our preparation. Welcome to our home!

I made that wreath last year and fell in love with its fun look.

Our tree may not be the fanciest one on the block, but I just don’t care. It’s filled with ornaments we’ve collected over the years, handmade kid trinkets and lots of sparkly lights. Someday I’ll have the “Pinterest Perfect” tree, but for now, this one is just right. My favorite part? How most of the ornaments are at kid eye-level!

That framed house was cross-stitched by my mom and hangs in our formal living room, near the tree.

That dining room has welcomed many a friend and family member. During the holiday season it (along with the kitchen, of course) is the hub of our home.

The mantel houses some of my most favorite pieces. The three wisemen, Santas Scott and I bought our very first Christmas when we had NO money and of course, our stockings. I’m also a huge fan of nativities and shared that love earlier last week. To read more about all five of our trees (I’m mildly obsessed), you can read my post that gives you all the tree details.
