A Grateful Heart: Happy Thanksgiving!
Every one of us has something in which to be thankful. This year, we feel abundantly blessed, as in, God you are SO good! Just eight days post-op from heart surgery and Luke is running with the bigs like he was never on the operating table.
Exhibit A
We went to Mass this morning and I have to say, if you’ve never been to your parish’s Thanksgiving Day Mass, you’re missing out. We started doing this a few years ago and we absolutely love it. It does take some planning on the cooking/entertaining end, but well worth it. Will says to me at the end, “Wow, that wasn’t nearly as long as the usual 9:30 Mass, Mom.” HA!
For the last several weeks, I’ve been participating in the What I Wore Sunday series. Today, a sweet, very stylish, gal is doing a “What I Wore on Thankgiving” and I decided to participate for one very simple reason. I’m pretty good about snapping the kids’ photos on a holiday, but I often forget to jump in the photo or I’d rather not be the cuteness buzzkill. As we walked out of Mass this morning, we couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the almost complete church in front of us. For more than a decade, this parish has been celebrating in a public school or a parish hall. So, the fact that we are about to have real-live kneelers is just so darn exciting.
With that beauty before us, the gorgeous weather and five cooperative kids, we snapped this. I might just cherish it forever because of what the picture captures, both the seen and unseen.
When we got home, Scott was kind enough to take this photo of me. Details are below. A very sweet, very awesome, Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!
Jacket: Talbots
Shirt: White House Black Market
Skirt: Ralph Lauren Outlet
Shoes: Dillard’s
Jewelry: Charming Charlies (earrings), school gala auction item (necklace)
One note about that necklace. I *adore* it. I love owls – obviously – and it is just such a fun piece. Scott bought it for me because he saw my eyes light up when I spotted it at a recent Catholic school gala.
The Indian and turkey shirts were a find on Etsy.

I believe all good outfits keep a balance, and yours proves the point. The smart blazer is perfect with the flowy skirt.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Beautiful! I am always in awe of people who can put outfits together. I have never been able to do that. I even remember that, back in the day when I sewed all my own clothes and my daughter’s, I would choose fabric close to the picture on the package. No imagination in me!!!
Great job! Beautiful family! Awesome Luke!
God bless you all (or y’all)!
