Christmas Day!

Our morning didn’t begin quite as early as I thought it might.  We heard some “whispers” around 6:45am from the girls.  They had discovered their Santa stash.  The boys arrived shortly after, around 7am.  There was lots of excitement, lots of smiles and lots of happy Whitaker children.  My parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece came over around 10 and we had our family Christmas.  There were many funny things said and a fair amount of wrapping paper.  I’m pretty sure no one got lost in it, though.

The hit of the party?  The Razors from Uncle Daniel and Aunt Amanda.  I asked if they also came with an ER co-pay.  My parents were in love with their personalized coasters and 2012 calendar.

The dinner turned out beautifully.  My parents brought over a beef tenderloin and I let it play guinea pig to a new Southern Living recipe I discovered.  I was doing fine until I saw the price on the meat!  But, all was well.  It was a great dinner at a table filled with family.  It doesn’t get better than that.

We spent the rest of the day watching football, eating some more, playing with new gifts, enjoying our neighbors outside (the weather was a little chilly but still wonderful) and playing host to a rousing round of “Just Dance Kids 2” on the Wii.  I just might lose a brother if I post the “dance off” between him and my sweet husband.  Then again, Amanda and I would be laughing pretty hard.  It could be worth it.  We shall see.

Our Christmas was grand and I pray yours was, too!
