Advent: Trees!

I’m not sure how this one failed to jump in the queue, but here are the kids’ trees, along with the family tree.  When I was a little girl, my mom made wreaths for each of us in the family and hung them on our bedroom doors.  I loved that wreath.  It made me feel very loved, it was definitely decorated just for me and it brought a little Christmas to the place I called heaven in our home.

The girls’ tree is full of girly things:  dolls, ballerinas, crowns and lots of pink and purple.

The boys’ tree has cars, superheroes and ornaments from Godparents.

Luke’s tree has a special set of handmade Noah’s Ark ornaments Scott and I purchased in San Diego several years ago – a true find.  I love it!

The family tree may not be decorated to the nines nor is it balanced and have properly spaced ornaments.  Nope.  But it is full of many memories.  It has White House and Texas State Capitol ornaments, some from vacations, some from friends, many from our children and some from our own childhood.  I do love a themed tree – they are quite lovely – but I love ours just the way it is.  I’ll just go to Macy’s to get our “themed-tree” fix.

Enjoy the Christmas season.  It’s still upon us until January 6.  ‘Tis the season, y’all.

I love all of your trees! I especially like how the kids have their own special ones. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family.
