Looks like a Par-tay!
Oh indeed it was. We had 20 – yes twenty – third grade boys here for Will’s birthday party. Truly, the Games2U trailer kept them occupied, quiet and sharing for a full hour and a half. Pandemonium didn’t strike until we brought out the cake. Go figure.
I think this idea is brilliant. You don’t have to plan a thing, the kids have a blast, the party is at your house and there’s no clean-up. Does it get any easier?
We put a new twist on the celebration this year and asked Will’s guests not to bring him a present – one look at our gameroom and you’ll know that our kids have puh-lenty to play with on any given day. Instead, we asked them to join us in donating books to the Dell Children’s Medical Center library.
On Good Friday, as part of our family service project during Lent, we trekked up to Dell and donated the books. It was great. All in all, I think we donated about 70 books. I’m quite positive there’s a very happy patient, happily reading a book, because of all that generosity. Now that’s something to celebrate.
Our kids are cracking up at the cake- they love it!
What's the story on the cake? The books for Dell is a wonderful idea, and that party trailer is perfect!
God bless you all!
@Verda – we have the Wii game system, so we did a little play on words. No worries, we had to explain it to my grandpa, too 🙂
@Elizabeth – Will thought it rocked!
