Before & After, Part VI: The Aggie Office

As any good Aggie would say, no house is complete without an Aggie room.  Well…that’s what we say anyway.  I had the good fortune of having a boss who collected A&M stuff – and lots of it.  When he was purging his collection a few years back, guess who he called?  We love all things Aggieland related, clearly, and it reminds us of what great life lessons we learned in the “other” Holyland.

Integrity.  Honor.  Respect.  Tradition.  Friendship.  Love.

You see, Scott and I met – on a blind date – under the dear old Quadrangle Arches.  The rest, they say, is history.  Yes, I do all my graphic design work in this room, but I am also reminded of a pretty special part of our wedded bliss here, too.

This room was the fifth bedroom, downstairs, tucked away in the corner.  Quiet and cool.  It just seemed like the perfect place for me to do some work.  Oh, and pay some bills.  And check facebook.

May I present, the before (yawn, yawn)

And the After!!

    Kathryn,

When do you all have time to do this? If it is you and Scott – you two are an awesome home improvement team!

Obviously, this was done when I was "nesting" in that last month before Luke was born. We had the floors installed professionally before we moved in, Scott did the painting and Pottery Barn Outlet was my design inspiration. It's no Candace Olson, but it was fun!

Hi! I found you through IHeartOrganizing the other day and LOVE your blog and your family already. Despite [because of?!] being a born and raised Catholic I have already learned a lot 🙂 I love your desk in this office… do you remember where you got it? I work f/t from home and am always looking for ways to make the office fun

I got the corner desk from either PB Outlet or Pottery Barn – it’s been about 8 years so I’m relying on memory here! I’m a huge fan of Ikea and I know they have some great options, as well, if they are close to you. Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s great to have you here. I’m a convert, so I had a steep Catholic learning curve – it’s a journey, right?
