Spring Break!
Boy howdy. After you read the next paragraph, you’ll know why you haven’t heard from me for five days…
Last Tuesday Clare got a fever, congestion, runny nose and a hacky cough, which she then ever-so-politely “shared” with Luke who came down with the same symptoms on Wednesday. Our pedi is off on Thursday, so Friday morning I hauled them both to the doctor. Verdict? Nasty, icky viral infection for Clare (we’re now on day 6 of fevers) and the same virus for Luke + a sweet, raging ear infection. Double awesome. The fun part is that we had to take him off his belly antibiotics and put him on ear antibiotics for the next 10 days. Then, we’ll resume the belly meds.
When I pledged to pray more this Lenten season, this is not what I had in mind. Oh, God, He’s a funny man. Scott and I are at least making good on our promise to sleep less during Lent 🙂
I am quite thankful it’s spring break. As much as the kids love school and I love the daytime break, it will be a welcome relief not to have to scurry to get breakfast on the table, lunches made, folders signed, clothes washed and dinner cooked in such an orderly fashion. Shoot, I just might let them eat cookies for breakfast…
The boys are headed to Golf Camp this week and will be spending some time with Nana and Papa while the girls, Luke and I just chill. And, we plan to spend a family day doing something memorable come Friday. I haven’t the slightest idea what, but it will be fun.
Check back in tomorrow and we’ll chat. It’s been a while. Oh, blogosphere, I missed you!
Thanks so much for opdate… I've missed my daily glimpse of the Whitaker family. One day, you will be able to rest; but not today. Just keep on keeping on and know you are surrounded by prayer!
Man! You guys just can't catch a break! I am frustrated for you! I am going to add a prayer specifically for you and Scott to get an unexpected and welcome several hours of peaceful sleep–or even just a few hours of "veg" time together. Either would have to be a miracle. You're amazing in your positivity and faith. It inspires the rest of us.
We barely survived the same crud last week. Lucy is still on the mend!
As for your Friday excursion the Waco Zoo is top notch!!! Have a great break!
