From AUS to NOLA

Yes, today is a bit bittersweet. Austin loses her Bishop, but New Orleans gains a familiar face. Bishop Aymond becomes Archbishop Aymond in just a few moments. It’s been a privilege and an honor to know him, and for my husband to call him “boss.”

We pray that he will lead New Orleans with wisdom and compassion and that they will welcome him with open arms.

We also pray that Austin is blessed with a man who is “of the church” and leads our Diocese to even more unprecedented growth. And, selfishly, I hope for a man who loves stewardship and development, along with Catholic schools, as much as Scott and I do. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to put all your wishes out there, now does it?
