Sibling Love
I just couldn’t let the day slip away without telling this cute story.
This morning, we headed out to the grocery store. A highlight of the trip is earning a “Buddy Buck” which can be inserted into a game and the kids get to “grab” a plastic ball with a numbered sticker inside. Yes, before I had children I always wondered what the big fuss was over this thing. I’m still not sure, but it’s a great incentive for good behavior at the store. The kids did outstanding, so over we went. John Paul even says to Anna-Laura (without prompting, mind you), “Sisty, you go first.” I was so proud.
Buddy buck in.
Arm down.
Anna-Laura got her yellow ball.
Lots of screams and joy.
Buddy buck in.
Arm down.
John Paul scored with a ball and a lid to another.
Jackpot.
Then the arm dropped the ball (yes, in every way) and left the lid for John Paul.
Tiny tears started to form.
The bottom lip came out.
Then AL says, “I’m sorry Dawn Paw. Next time you get your ball.”
Then they hug.
I almost cried.
Oh my goodness! That is sooooo freakin’ cute I can’t even stand it!
i was waiting for her to give JP her prize. she’s a sneaky little gal. use emotion to distract him.
Well, she’s empathetic, but not willing to give away the goods! At least she gave him hugs 🙂
