We’re Off to Disney for the 10yo Trip!

In just a few short hours, Clare and I are boarding a plane (pray for us, please, I hate flying!) for Disney. She is out of her mind excited. Admittedly, I am, too. You can read a bit more about our 10-year-old trips here, when Anna-Laura and I conquered Chicago! I promise to catch everyone up on our epic confirmation/birthday bash, along with this fabulous time with my girl. Until then, catch us on Instagram. I'll be snapping and storying, ...

Numero Tres, Happy Birthday Gianna!

I had big plans to get this published this morning and, well, life. We had a beautiful day of celebrating with family and the party continues tomorrow as we host a joint confirmation/birthday party. You know us, there will be hard liquor, sweet tea, lots of good food and sweets. It's how we sacrament. If you're the nostalgic kind, then I'm pretty sure you'll love this. Oh, and remember this? I'm sorry. I'll stop. That's enough rabbit hole for tonight. ...
Every parent does it, yet none of us wants to admit it.

The Thing We’re All Failing At…Miserably

A thousand hours I have spent thinking, praying and pondering this subject. That is not an exaggeration. If you're the parent of a tween or teen, then I suspect you have, too. It seems as if our kids are growing up - fast - thanks to the information superhighway and social media. When I put on my rose-colored glasses, I will tell you that it's great! awesome! fantastic! Then, I take them off and realize that many times I feel ...

That Time I Lost my Mind

About two months ago, I hopped on Instagram and shared, via Insta-stories, the crazy hair I got to declutter and deep clean my entire house in ten days. Y'all. I was heavily medicated. On Dr Pepper and Dos Equis. I'm blaming it largely on this gal. However, I'd been wanting to really clear out the crap in our house for a loooong time. This was just a kick in the pants to git 'er done. It started as a purge. ...

State of the Spring

As I organized and edited photos this spring, I realized just how much I hadn't shared here. I've been slightly addicted to Instagram (and thos stories!), much to my children's dismay. And, I've largely given up posting much on personal Facebook page. It's been such a dreadful place to hang out, as of late. I do wish there was a way I could deactivate my personal page, but keep my blog page. #firstworldproblems I'm at least finding joy on that page! ...

May We All Dig Deep as Easter Draws Near

Source I stood in my dorm room, willing myself not to chicken out. “Just go,” my best friend urged me. “It’s only lunch. If the blind date is a bust, you’ve only wasted an hour.” She had a point. That blind date in the Corps of Cadets dining hall at Texas A&M turned into the first chapter of a fantastically awesome love story. That handsome, Catholic cadet and I have been married 20 years and God has blessed us with ...

Howdy!

... and welcome to the mess. I know a thing or two about big families (I've got 6 kids + a daughter-in-law), carpool, grief, Jesus, the Texas Aggies, prematurity, marriage counseling, decluttering and party planning, but I still don't know why it's so hard for my kids to put up their shoes. My Texas-sized heart is honored to have you here!
