Yee-Haw! A Texas Birthday

My love affair with birthday parties continues. You may see a repeat of this party again next year for sweet Gianna. She shared her big three-year-old birthday with her oldest brother, who was celebrating his Confirmation the same weekend.

I figured, let’s do a two-fer. Double the cookies, double the party, double the fun.

Plus, we like to do things big here in Texas.

Because it was just friends and family coming over after the Confirmation Mass, I opted to decorate Gianna’s birthday dessert table and save the activities and all my cute decorations throughout the house for another day. I only had so much bandwidth, y’all. I’m already dreaming of how we can go all out next year for numero quatro.

It’s a sickness.

If ever there was a table that screamed #texasforever, this it. Let’s break it down.

The boot full of yellow roses. That’s just a mason jar, filled with flowers from HEB. It fit snugly in the boot and I slipped them in just before party time. No leather was damaged in this shot.

Licorice and lassos go together like peas and carrots. I just couldn’t bring myself to do black licorice {gag}.

Are those haystacks genius, or what? Thanks, St. Pinterest. Yes, I bought them. No, I’m not to proud to admit it. Next time, I’ll get fancy, make them myself and add some red, white and blue stars. At least that’s what I say right now.

Who can forget the ultimate Texas quote? Thank you, Davy Crockett, for summing up exactly how I feel about the Lonestar State. He’s such a good Tennessee boy, isn’t he? This one hangs in my guest bathroom. I like to make my intentions clear to all who visit our casa. Ha!

The sweet tea. Because it’s not a party without it. Yes? Yes.

And the pièce de résistance? COOKIES. My Texas history folks will appreciate the “Come and Take It” flags. We’re serious when we make threats like that. High fives to all my Gonzales peeps. Kendra did an amazing job, as usual.

Finally, a few parting shots of the birthday girl with her sweet, sweet cupcake baked by Olga. *love*

I can’t believe she’s three! We have that same quote from Davy Crockett on our fridge. Texas forever! 🙂
