7 Quick Takes: Where I Recover from Jet Lag

When was the last time I did seven quick takes, like years ago? There’s so much to share! To reflect upon! To laugh about!

You may have heard we went to Europe to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Ha. Pretty sure even the Pope knows I was so excited. Speaking of the Pope {sneak peek}. I promise there’s more to come.

I finally found Scott the perfect gift. Exhibits A, B and C. It was the find of the century. Flytographer connects travelers with local photographers. Not only do they snap great shots, but, in our case, they shared some fantastic insider travel tips and even enjoyed tapas and beer with us. #winning There is definitely more to the story and I promise to share it all next week. Not sure I’d fly Iberia again. Then again, if not for them losing our luggage I would never have found the cutest mascara I’ve ever owned. Heck of a Spanish souvenir. Funny now, not funny when you’ve been up 36 hours.

I would be remiss without singing the praises of the NINE families it took to hold down the fort while we were off gallivanting around Europe. Both sets of grandparents traded off Gianna duties here at the house, while the other five kids were farmed out to neighbors and dear friends, plus a few other families who shared carpooling duties and teachers who extended lots of graces. It really does take a village. I can’t tell you how many times I thought of them in prayer with a heart full of gratitude. Their generosity still brings me to tears. Y’all know who you are.

Europe doesn’t own a clock. However, don’t be late for your train. THAT runs on time. Ask me how I know.

The first meal back was? Guesses? If you’re Scott’s friend on Instagram, you can’t answer this. Oh, but if you want to catch all the iPhone snaps of our adventure, just look up the tag #TexansinEuropefor20

I’m officially an orange juice snob. Y’ALL. They make it fresh everywhere you go. I’ve got to figure out how to get one of those machines in my kitchen.

I’m already working on next week’s posts. Mostly because I just want to relive those 9 days all over again. People keep asking how our trip was and I can’t help but smile like a kid on Christmas and say “amazing” and mean it. Truly, it was out-of-this-world awesome. My heart is bursting with gratitude. I’ll stop. Go have a great Friday and we’ll chat next week. Hooray!

SO awesome! Worth all of the juggling, I am sure. I would have never thought of having a local photographer involved. Pretty cool gig.

Definitely worth the juggling! The photographer thing turned out to be brilliant. Scott wasn’t so sure, but after our first photo shoot he was hooked. Such a blast.

We went to Europe this summer and it was amazing. I’ve decided the Europeans are just better at life than we are. So much less stress! So much more time enjoying the finer things in life. I’m kicking myself that it took 47 years for me to experience it. Love you cousin. So glad you had a wonderful 20th year anniversary.
