{Before & After} A Good Bull Texas Aggie Nursery

In our house, the motto is clear: Every color is a shade of maroon.

Or, in this case, every room has to have a little (or a lot) of Aggie in it. When baby number six arrived almost two years ago, she camped out in our room for a long while. When we finally got so sleep deprived to care, we figured she needed her own space to sleep. Thus, the great office renovation of 2015. It turned out beautifully and we adore every square inch.

But, I neglected to show off the new, and improved, Aggie nursery. I mean, doesn’t every baby have a saber on the wall, senior boots in the corner and old Aggieland yearbooks adorning the space? And, yes, we rock her to sleep singing the Aggie War Hymn. Here’s the office before (pardon the terrible photo!):

And, AFTER!

Do you yell gig 'em in your sleep? Greet people with a howdy? You might be a Texas Aggie. If you're looking for inspiration for a Texas A&M themed nursery, look no further. It's all things maroon here!

At first, we worried we were just converting the office space into a temporary mish-mash of a nursery, enough to just “get by.” Then we took some time to sit in that sweet rocking chair and take a gander at the space and realized it was perfect.

This towel? A gift to Scott his senior year at A&M. I was looking for a meaningful gift for my sweet yell leader of a boyfriend, one that he would cherish always. Now, it proudly hangs in the nursery and our kids often ask who all those people are. Our reply? Good people and even greater Aggies!Do you yell gig 'em in your sleep? Greet people with a howdy? The cross-stitched art my mom gave us as a wedding gift captures how we feel about Aggieland. People really don’t come to A&M to become Aggies, they come to perfect the Aggie already within them. Can I get an Amen?

The corner shelves are full of good bull. Our older boys crafted the wooden “Texas” and “Gig ’em” at summer camp. That cap? Our second son waited after every football game a few years ago to get the football player’s signatures. I’m pretty sure he followed some poor fella all the way to his car. The old yearbooks (both the Aggielands and the Longhorns), along with decanters, stuffed animals, corps hats and old pins are all from a collection, once owned by my former boss.

What’s an Aggie nursery without the Aggie ring shot? Answer: not much of one. And, yes, those fantastic photos were captured by a dear Aggie friend of mine. #allintheaggiefamily

Her reading nook is full of gems like Goodnight Aggieland. For good measure, we affixed her dad’s saber to the wall just above those books. That *is* the standard in decorating these days, right?

I think one of my favorite spots of the room is the changing table. That photo just above her is actually her dad, painted by Benjamin Knox. He gifted that image to Scott upon graduation and we have always loved it. I’m pretty sure it was the one time Rev wasn’t biting him at a football game.

Yes, we have the practical diaper pail, hook system, storage areas, laundry hamper and rocking chair. But for us, it was always about the details, of the Aggie variety.Do you yell gig 'em in your sleep? Greet people with a howdy? You might be a Texas Aggie. This is the first photo you see, as you enter the room. I still can’t believe she was once tiny enough to fit on that sweater!

It looks great! I just decorated my son’s nursery using his dad’s old sports uniforms and equipment. Definitely my favorite room in the house. Displaying parents’ special mementos in a baby/kid’s room is the cutest!

Love it! You sure do have a gift and an incredible work ethic. I don’t know when you find time to sleep with all that you accomplish 🙂 I am tempted to come to Texas to stalk you and Jennifer Fulwiler to learn how to be a rock star Catholic mom.
