Dancing Queen
When Clare said she wanted to take dance lessons instead of soccer, I sortof cheered inside. Yes, I love soccer, BUT who can resist watching sweet girls dance on stage? Plus, it’s in air conditioning. Added bonus.
Clare is my kid who loves to dance. She loves an audience, but it’s not 100% necessary. She’s almost always happy, rarely gets flustered and loves everything about being a girl. In mom-speak, she is a total delight to watch on stage.
Every other year our dance studio opts for a “demonstration” in lieu of a recital. Less money, less time and less fluff. It’s still a big day, but it’s nice that your pocketbook isn’t hit every year with a recital fee. I love this studio and the teachers are just awesome. Clare really came into her own this year.
Obviously, she had many adoring fans, but the sweetest moment was after the demonstration. She rounded the corner and Luke ran toward her at full tilt, carrying the flowers and screamed out, “CWARE!” And then they hugged.
I know. A-dorable.
Keep dancing, pretty girl. You will always be the star of the show to us!
Your little girl is so sweet. Love it!! My little 3 and 4 year old granddaughters are in ballet since last year. Next month the 4 year old has her first recital and has already had a dress rehearsal in costume. Little girls dancing are the cutest!!!
PRECIOUS!!!! What a fantastic idea of a demonstration…..for me, the worst thing is the stress of the recital….I say, “just dance, for crying out loud!”!!
Great job, Clare! We are so glad to hear that you love to dance. Our daughters have “grown up” at the same studio – what a wonderful time we have had! Our oldest, Angela, is a senior and so is in her last big recital this year. Then it’s off to College Station to join the Class of 2017 – Whoop!
