The Best Text. Ever.

Do you ever have one of those days? You know, the kind where you’re all “I’D LIKE A DO-OVER GOD!”

That was my Monday.

There was the client that fired me. And they were one of my favorites.

There was the electric company that refuses to negotiate. It’s a long story, but with no real great ending. So. Incredibly. Frustrating.

The new Crayola marker design on the carpet. It’s all the rage these days.

No nap for the 3yo.

A massive bump to the head of said 3yo who cannot afford that kind of crazy just a few months before brain surgery. Yeah, I’ll dish on that later.

A CT scan to schedule for said brain surgery.

8,000 shirts to iron.

Accounting software that has all kinds of problems. My design brain cannot handle that mess.

And then…

text, blog

Yes. THAT. Fr. Richard, if you are reading you have no idea how much I appreciated that message and those prayers. I was standing at the ironing board, refereeing fights, trying not to burn dinner and sitting on hold with the electric company when your text came through. For a moment, all felt right with the world.

Somebody was praying for me. And I had proof. I may just keep that text forever and keep resending it to myself.

Pony up, ladies. We can do the motherhood gig one more day. Here’s to bad electric companies, burnt dinners, wrinkly shirts and a huge to-do list. In God’s eyes, they ain’t nothin’ but a thang.

Holy cow you get texts from a priest!! How awesome. My patron saint is Catherine of Siena so I’m going to just go ahead and feel some of that grace too. 🙂

Karen, he’s pretty much one of the coolest priests I know. We’re both fans of sarcasm so we get along swimmingly. He and I go way back. I hope you do feel the grace!

Hope you had a glass of vino before — during — and after dinner! Remembering our trips to Siena and how I wanted you to name your first child that.

    God bless!!!!
