In case you were wondering…

You’re probably not wondering, but I’m going to share anyway.

I cleaned out the freezer and took a quick inventory of all the stored breastmilk I have from all of Luke’s NPO days, i.e. the days he couldn’t eat.  Here are four important numbers:  4, 40, 150 and 440.

4 gallons of milk pumped
40 days Luke didn’t eat a single thing
150 oz. of milk I’ll be donating to the Austin Milk Bank
440 pumping sessions
Wow.  That’s just nuts.  Oh, and here’s a photo of our freezer!

    You go girl!!!!!
I hated pumping when I tried it with Regina. You are my hero and I am sure the milk bank's as well!

Kathryn, that is hilarious you took a picture of all that milk but it is the only way for all to really grasp what 4 gallons of pumped breast milk looks like! Ha, ha!

Praise God Luke is home now!

Wow, Kathryn. That's impressive – that you could do it at all considering the stress, and that you were so organized! You need a deep freeze!

FYI. You might want to save some of the early days' milk for its high immunity content, as protection for future illnesses or for use during flu season or when your others are ill. Not fun to think about, but it could be useful for Master Luke if he picked something up. I'm sure you know this already. Forgive me for passing along advice.

@ Kraft, NO. Kids screaming, homework, lunches, nope not ready for any of it.
@ Everyone. I know, right? Who takes a picture of their freezer full of breastmilk? Me, I guess. Luke can't drink it fast enough so looks like some babies I know are going to get some extra milk 🙂
