Pre-K here we come!
Just as soon as I recovered from the trauma of sending one to kindergarten, along comes Anna-Laura. With just 16 months between her and John Paul, it sometimes seems like we have twins. As soon as he reaches a milestone, she’s right behind him.
Thursday was no different.
Fortunately, she went with a buddy. Clare began the two-year-old class, and according to chaueffer Scott, they bounded in like pros, hung up their backpacks, yelled bye and never looked back.
My babies are growing up. And quite confidently I might add.
Honestly? I wasn’t sure what to do with myself. I had my doctor visits on Thursday morning, so Scott handled the morning school gig. That left me with nearly four whole hours with no kids. None. Zip. Nada.
It totally weirded me out. It wasn’t weird enough, however, to keep me from getting a pedicure and taking in lunch with a girlfriend…
The “freedom” won’t last long, but I’m thanking God for the break. It’s much needed. And, really, who am I kidding? I can’t wait to have a newborn in the house again. It’s brutal, but I think we’re ready. Check back with me in about five weeks and I’ll let you know how it’s going.
Now…off to make my Tuesday/Thursday “me time” list…
Wow! Look at how old Clare is! They really do grow up so fast!
