QOTW: January 7, 2012
I know I’m a day late. I thought about posting yesterday, but went outside to play with the kids instead. Here’s a few weeks worth of quotes. Enjoy!
“Tell Dad I got my happy back!”
Clare, after feeling crummy one morning, drank some hot chocolate and declared everything all better. Funny how chocolate does that to a person.
“It’s a gift.”
Me, not being very humble, when Scott commented on my ability to pack the car better than he did. It’s become a running joke in the house…
“Oh, what does the other guy look like?”
If you follow me on FB, you know that the littlest guy in the house has the BIGGEST shiner. I’ll have a post up about it next week. All I can say is, owweee.
“I didn’t know you used to make scooters!”
Anna-Laura to Uncle Daniel after he “snapped” her new Razor into place. Daniel just shrugged his shoulders and said, “Yeah, I got pretty good at it.” It’s become her MO now for anyone that has a particular skill. I was painting wooden boxes for a class project the other day and she exclaimed, “Mommy, I didn’t know you used to paint!” I love that girl. What a confidence booster.
“I ‘cream the loudest.”
Clare isn’t so great on the combo of “s” and another consonant. She usually just drops the “s”. And, yes, she can scream the loudest. By a mile.
“Are you going out on a date?”
The one day I dress up and the kids think I have a date with Scott. Note to self, wear less jeans this year.
“You have five kids…and they’re all with the same dad?”
Yeah, that’s definitely another blog post. I can honestly say in the 11 years I’ve had kids, no one has EVER asked me that question. First time for everything, I guess.
Luke has been talking up a storm and learns right about one new word a day. I am beside myself with happiness. He is making amazing progress, I only wish the new year and a new deductible didn’t start over in January. Sigh. At least we’ll meet it early on before his brain surgery later this year. Positivity, right? We have a semi-laid back weekend: basketball practice, a few honey-do’s and an awesome dinner with friends. More on that come Monday. Make it a great weekend, y’all!
