QOTW: November 5, 2010
Did you know that eight babies will be born today in Austin prematurely? Eight x 365 days x a lot of places in the United States…that’s a lot of babies. And, equally important, that’s a lot of mommas crying in a rocking chair this morning.
Go spread the word about prematurity. It can happen to anyone (case in point) and doesn’t play favorites when it comes to geography, socio-economic status, religion or age. A vote for Super Luke is one more person that learns about prematurity and how it really does affect us all. Hand to Hold, the non-profit sponsoring the contest, is already doing amazing things in Central Texas for families experiencing a NICU stay, prematurity or infant loss. I just finished their first newsletter and it’s hitting the presses today. So exciting.
Now, on to your QOTW.
“I meant to do that.” (with finger pointing up in the air and cute smirk on his face)
John Paul, after dropping his [empty] cup and it bounced all over the kitchen. What makes this so *dang* [insert sarcasm font here] funny is that he or another child spills milk or juice at least five times a week. Nope, it can never be water. It’s always gotta be the sticky stuff. Ah, the joys of motherhood.
“Well, back to the point.”
Will. What is he, 36?
“Wow, making dinner and being the Mom is alot of work.”
Will, after being in charge of making dinner last night in preparation for his 4-H Food Show next week. He just might be making dinner more often. It was delish!
“Luke do you like Longhorns?” (head shake NO)
“Luke do you like Aggies?” (hand clap and laughs)
Yes, brainwashing begins early. Already our son’s IQ is stellar 🙂
We have a really, REALLY fun weekend ahead. Will has a flag football game tonight and then John Paul finishes the season at the Palace for his team. For you non-Austin, non-Texas friends…wait ’til I post pictures of this place. It’s across the street from our house and would rival many college stadiums. Welcome to Texas football! Then, we’re heading back to Dell – but this time for a sweet NICU reunion with Luke’s doctors and nurses.
I. Can’t. Wait.
It should be tons of fun. You’ll have some great (I hope!) pictures to see on Monday.
You must be related to the Energizer Bunny!
Oh my goodness – the fun never ends in your house! Love you guys!
