“How about you keep yourself to yourself?”
John Paul, in response to me asking everyone to keep their hands, feet and objects to themselves. It’s become a new family motto.
“Look at that bag of sugar rush!”
Will, showing me his Valentine candy stash from school.
This week, we’ve been watching and DVRing just about every second of Olympic coverage. I’m fascinated with that kind of talent. We’ve shown bits and pieces to the kids. This week? Men’s figure skating. You know where this is going, don’t you? Below is a conversation among the kids while we were watching USA skater Johnny Weir.
JP: Is that a girl?
Will: No, John Paul, this is men’s figure skating. That is a boy, right Mom?
Anna-Laura: Oh, she has pink on. Are you sure?
Clare: Pink, pink, pink. I wuv pink!
JP: So, it’s a girl?
Me: No guys, it’s not a girl, it’s a guy. His name is Johnny.
JP: Huh, that’s weird. I’m a boy and I never wear pink.
*sigh*
We have a fun weekend planned…dinner with friends, a basketball game, Stations of the Cross at church and some early spring cleaning. It should be fun. I’ll have an update on Luke come Monday. Make it a great weekend!
Hilarious about the men's figure skating! That's too funny… We haven't watched much of it – but we should be. Yes, the talent is amazing!
