QOTW: November 13, 2009

For those of you just joining us…or if you are relatively new to the blog, before all the Luke craziness, I was pretty good about giving you some laughs on Friday via “Quotes of the Week”, hence QOTW.  We’ve been a little sidetracked, so here’s hoping we can get the regular schedule back 🙂

“Man, I just can’t get enough of that couscous.”
Will, after eating three servings of this outstanding side dish.  Kudos to our cook.

“So Mom, when Anna-Laura is 35 she will have a baby and YOU will have another baby, right?
John Paul, still in need of some math therapy, evidently.

“I know, Wuke.  I know.”
Clare, with her most compassionate head nod and pat to Luke’s belly.  Guess she’s heard me saying that to him when he cries…

“Why do we have to put on our Halloween shirts?  That was like two weeks ago Mom!”
Will, giving me grief for making them put on the shirts so I could snap a picture this afternoon.  Hey, we’re just two weeks behind.  Not bad.  Not bad at all.

{heavy sigh}
The nurse at Dr. Enders office when I told her I would be nursing Luke while she gave him his shots.  I do have a little story and bit of advice on this quote.  With Anna-Laura, I started nursing the kids when it was shot time at the doctor.  I just find out ahead of time how many shots we have (if we’re slated to have more than 3, then I split them up and do them about 4 days apart – so much easier on everyone) and then find out what leg the nurse prefers.  I had Ms. Notsonice Nurse and she gives me a bad rap everytime I insist.  Tough stuff, sister.  I’m the mom.  Plus, evidence is on my side.  Recently a study showed that breastfeeding was a powerful pain reliever.  Of course, he did great.  Big wail as soon as the shot went in and then he went back to nursing.  No screaming baby = no crying mom.  Soap box done.

“No good deed goes unpunished.”
Scott, when he realized he hung our new bedroom drapes three-inches too low…and when he went to patch the holes with extra paint, the can had leaked all over our garage floor.  Fun times.  Fun.  Times.

“I’m done.”
Me, in reference to the C-R-A-P all over our house.  For reals.  It’s everywhere.  Nesting, for me, happens before and after pregnancy.  Thank the good Lord.  I just have our bedroom and the game room closet to go.  I should dig out sometime next summer.

And that is your Friday QOTW.  We’ll take a blog break this weekend and be back at it on Monday.  Pray for me…Scott goes back to work full-time and I’ll officially be flying solo.  Not sure why I’m all skittish about that, but I am.  But, at least now I can sortof fit into my big girl skinny panties.  Bring it.

    Thanks for the smiles this morning! I'm really picturing Nurse Notsonice when she comes up against Kathryn. You know she doesn't have a chance. And the pictures were worth it. I still don't know where you get your energy (oh, wait… it's from God through all His saints and angels). Have a wonderful weekend! God bless y'all!

    Oh Kathryn I'm just praising the Lord! I'm so glad Luke is home with his sweet mama…and daddy and family!
